The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is a law issued by Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It aims to ensure the U.S. food supply is safe by shifting the focus from responding to contamination to preventing it.
This conference will be the first program to bring together the private sector represented by the food industrialists, the public sector represented by ministries of agriculture, health and industry, as well as  a number of food, environment and agriculture professionals, orders, universities, NGO’s, …
The vision of this event is to help Lebanon to lead in the new paradigm of food safety.
Our mission is to show the importance of capacity building along Lebanese value chains for local health and economic benefits, and to address private-public and academic partnership, in order to better prepare for the new paradigm.
The objectives of this conference are:

To help Lebanese industrialists understand the new FDA FSMA law, and encourage them to apply it. And that’s not only for being able to export to U.S.A, but also for health and economic benefits of Lebanese and Middle East’s citizens.
To encourage Lebanese food industries to produce safe food.
To help the industrialists identify the root causes of unsafe production.
To help the industrialists understand the importance of prevention modalities from farm to fork.
To encourage public-private partnership to achieve scientific partnerships.
