Raising Environmental Awareness Through Art

Assignment
The individual/party (herein referred to as ARTIST/S) will be contracted to convey messages through art installations of the environmental, health and aesthetic impact of solid waste. These messages can either be negatively or positively geared, but should invoke action by the community and encourage change. The ARTIST/S will visit the areas to better understand what shock art would best fit.

Description of WORK

The art works will be the entry point to engage with the community around the issue of solid waste management and open the discussion about the works to be implemented in their area. Throughout the design stage, ACTED will facilitate engagement with key stakeholders in each area to allow the ARTIST/S to tailor each piece for maximum impact and creativity. The works will include installation of the artwork to be sustained for a period of two months and removal of works. See attached ideas of similar environmentally focused shock art installations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should demonstrate their qualifications and proven experience in the art and design, previous experience in installations is a bonus. Candidates should provide a portfolio containing examples of their works. Eye for design and attention to details are essential.

DELIVERABLES
The ARTIST/S will create ten art installations in the municipalities partaking in this project. The deliverables and timeframes are listed in the table below; kindly provide a unit cost of each art installations below, including the design, installation and removalof each art work. Additionally, provide one example of a concept design in your submission that addresses the brief above.
