Job Description
The Medical Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of health-related activities under the project. The position focuses on overseeing and coordinating secondary healthcare services, conducting health information sessions, and providing technical guidance to staff, beneficiaries, and caregivers. By ensuring alignment between medical interventions and project objectives, the Medical Coordinator contributes directly to improved health outcomes for vulnerable beneficiaries.
The Medical Coordinator is contracted to work 2 days per week (8 days per month), with a rate of $150 per day.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee Secondary Healthcare Services
Lead all activities related to the provision of secondary healthcare services for beneficiaries, ensuring timely access to quality care.
Conduct regular case reviews to assess beneficiaries' medical needs and monitor their progress.
Coordinate with hospitals to ensure effective and timely delivery of medical services.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers for seamless referrals and quality care.
Monitor the utilization of financial support to cover costs beyond subsidies for eligible cases.
2. Health Information Sessions
Conduct training workshops and health information sessions for therapists and relevant staff.
Enhance the capacity of staff to address beneficiaries' medical needs, especially for target conditions like infected bed sores, UTIs, and respiratory infections.
3. Technical Guidance for Awareness Sessions
Provide guidance for health awareness sessions aimed at beneficiaries and caregivers.
Focus on topics like hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to mitigate target conditions.
4. Data Management and Reporting
Collect, analyze, and report data related to secondary healthcare utilization, treatment outcomes, and program impact.
Prepare regular reports on referrals, treatments, and expenditures.
Identify challenges in healthcare delivery and recommend corrective actions.
5. Quality Assurance
Ensure the quality and consistency of healthcare services provided to beneficiaries.
Monitor adherence to medical protocols and best practices within contracted hospitals.
Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures.
Qualifications
Education:
MD (Doctor of Medicine) or equivalent medical degree.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health, healthcare program management, or a related field.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of public health principles, disease prevention, and healthcare delivery systems.
In-depth knowledge of common health conditions affecting the target population (ex: infected bed sores, UTIs, respiratory infections).
Skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Proficiency in computers and relevant software (ex: spreadsheets, databases, medical records systems).
Language Proficiency
Fluency in Arabic and English.
