Skoun Lebanese Addictions Center NGO founded in 2003 provide accessible treatment, education and protection for people who use drugs. Skoun strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as a primary health issue.
Job summary
- Conduct the medical assessment for patients if needed
- Administer urine tests
- Administer injection, If needed
- Follow up medication reconciliation, lab tests and medication stock
- Coordinate with Skoun’s Clinical team
- Participate in the capacity building whenever is needed.
Tasks and Duties
Conduct the medical assessment for the patients (If needed) and administer urine tests
- Psychoeducation for patients about the medication, HIV, and Hepatitis B and C
- Administer and document urine tests
Follow up lab tests and medication stock
- Follow up the tests recommended from the psychiatrist / therapists
- Ensure that weekly Opiate Substitution Treatment prescriptions are correctly filled and comply with Ministry Of Health protocol
- Follow up any side effects from the Psychotropic medication in coordination with the Psychiatrist.
- Coordinate with the hospital pharmacist and consistently inform Skoun’s Head Nurse for any shortage in medications.
Responsible for the patients’ file
- The nurse will make sure that no one will have access to the patients’ file except the clinical team
- Responsible for safekeeping doctor’s prescription pads and stamps
- Make sure to fill all the forms needed for the nursing department
Responsible for the link between Psychiatrist, Case Manager and Therapists
- Follow up on patients’ schedule with the clinical team if needed
- The nurse will work in coordination with the team and will be part of the clinical meetings
Reporting and meetings
- Provide weekly reports if required
- Reporting the data to the Head Nurse
