CP Officer

The Child Protection Officer will be based in Halba Akkar with travel to beirut. He/She will provide technical assistance to partners, assure quality of programming and ensure adequate coordination and communication on child protection. The Field Child Protection Officer will be responsible for:
Programs:
- Ensure child protection projects are in line with Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, and gender- and conflict-sensitive.
- Work closely with project manager to ensure that activities are implemented in a coordinated and phased manner, in accordance with National SOP's, best practices and policy.
- Provide technical guidance and direction including ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to partners’ staff members to ensure quality programming in compliance with AND 's Child Protection standards and policies.
- Conduct regular spot checks to all projects in the field to ensure CP standards are in place. Provide oversight and supervision for purchasing appropriate technical material
-Provide and oversee the implementation of Child Protection Standards and Child Safe Organization.
-Requirements on a field level (staff regular CP policy orientation and cross sectorial mainstreaming of CP concept) .
-Plan and provide for Capacity Building for staff to implement the CP project models, behavioral protocols and Safe Identification and Referrals.
- Coordinate closely with Case managment supervisor to improve the quality of Child Protection programs and activities;
- Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management systems are in place for appropriate CP analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy;
- Ensure regular communication with CP Manager to integrate appropriate technical input and priorities in program design implementation;
- Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required.
Coordination and Communication:
· Provide updates and reports on child protection activities to the CP Manager;
· Participate in Child Protection Working Group, Child Labour Task Force, and other relevant coordination entities, when needed.
· Attend regular calls, meetings, etc. as required by AND managment team.
Human Resources
· Coordinate and/or implement training and briefing For AND staff, and other key stakeholders on child protection, child safeguarding and/or related issues.
Requirements:
· Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in child protection work of which at least 2 in humanitarian or refugee settings;
· Bachelor degree in social work, social sciences, psychology or another related field;
· Strong experience in child protection in humanitarian or refugee settings, community-based child protection and child and youth participation required;
· Experience in programming related to child labour, girls’ rights and child marriage are an asset;
· Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/trainings;
· Excellent skills in project design, time management, and problem solving;
· Flexible work attitude and ability to work independently within a small team;
· Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse and cross-cultural audience;
· Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English mandatory.
