Taawon Lebanon empowers local communities with a focus on the most vulnerable.

The Community Development program covers a variety of components including: health, psychosocial support, services to people with disabilities, capacity building and others. Besides, the regular components under Community Development, Taawon Lebanon responds to crises by undertaking emergency relief operations while preserving beneficiaries’ dignity: relief operations include the provision of basic assistance, water and sanitation assistance, shelter rehabilitation, and helping children cope during emergencies.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Under the overall supervision of the Programs Manager and the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Community Development Program, the Assistant will undertake the following:

  1. Provide day to day technical, administrative and logistics support to the Program Coordinator – Community Development.
  2. Assist in the coordination of the program activities and operations as well as in the coordination of field visits and organizing meetings.
  3. Assist in the preparation of program payments; review payments of beneficiaries and partners and ensure they are in line with Taawon’s rules and procedures.
  4. Assist in preparing financial and narrative reports.
  5. Support in drafting briefs and short write ups including success stories, social media postings, minutes of meetings, and communication briefs; assist in the preparation of periodic progress reports on the different projects under the program.
  6. Ensure that program files and documents are properly organized, filed and archived together with all related information and data (Photos, Logos, lists of partners, etc.)
  7. Liaise - when needed - with the different Taawon’s partners and organizations and maintain a positive relationship with all.
  8. Conduct field visits to the different projects within and outside the Palestinian refugee camps; visit and monitor relevant field activities under the program.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social studies, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience – preferably with a civil society organization
  • Good command of both Arabic and English - spoken and written
  • Excellent computer skills (MS-Office, MS-Project, and Internet Applications).
  • Demonstrated positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and within a team of different backgrounds
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and able to manage multi tasks effectively
  • Efficient with solid time management skills
