Job responsibilities / skills
M&E system, standards, and guidelines:
Contribute to M&E system development, implementation and/or improvement based on assessments and analysis of resources and capacity;
Support the M&E Unit in formulating guidelines and SOPs for improved effectiveness and efficiency;
Provide support to M&E Unit and Programmes in project design and planning phases;
Work with the project teams on implementing M&E plans, processes and tools.
Monitoring, information management and reporting:
Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation Unit in designing M&E tools as and when required;
Support in the establishment of beneficiary databases as per project requirements;
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, draft reports and share findings with relevant stakeholders
Ensure that all field-data is collected in a timely and efficient manner while emphasizing accuracy and quality; and M&E data and files are properly organized and documented;
Conduct qualitative data collection through frequent visits to the field and have focused and well-structured discussions with the beneficiaries;
Report on any identified shortfalls in M&E and/or information management to M&E Unit and follows up on proposed solutions;
Research and conduct analysis of secondary data sources including needs assessments, context analysis and sector trends.
Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning:
Support in the design and/or management of internal evaluations in areas such as field-based data collection activities, sharing findings with relevant audience, and following up on the implementation of recommendations;
Share relevant M&E findings with project stakeholders in an appropriate format and participate in meetings with program staff to reflect on findings and agree on action plans;
Organize/support field-based and context specific reviews and learning workshops or activities;
Support the programme teams and partners in documenting lessons learnt and success stories by providing guidance and suggesting methods and tools;
Contribute to the development and improvement of feedback and complaints mechanisms in collaboration with partners;
Capacity building for WCH and Partner staff:
Provide training to WCH staff and partners on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning based on needs and requirements;
Conduct M&E inductions for staff and partners as well as M&E tools implementation, use, and reporting;
Perform M&E working groups with partners and communities based on interest and resources to enhance learning and exchange learning and experiences;
Undertake periodic monitoring visits to partners to follow up on progress against agreed M&E systems and provide support in recommending corrective actions as appropriate.
Networking/Coordination:
Participate in relevant inter-agency efforts in addition to IM working groups for better coordination among the sector;
Deliver any other responsibility related to M&E assigned by the line manager.
Necessary experience:
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation systems and tools preferred;
- Minimum 2 years of active M&E experience in social development programming and in collecting, analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with an emphasis on producing quality products;
- Experience in assessments, data analysis preferred;
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent use of technology (mobile data collection) / reporting / Analysis / MIS.
Education level: Bachelor’s degree
Education field: Development, Statistics, Demography, Social Science.
