Deputy Executive Director

Key role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Governance and Membership
- Develop accountability mechanisms to ensure transparency and improve relationships and trust within the Circle.
- Recruit new members that are diverse in terms of expertise and encourage their active participation in the organization.
- Develop roles and responsibilities for the growing team and ensure adherence to anti-fraud and vetting policies.
- Facilitate fair and transparent elections each year and coordinate the leadership transition.
Partnerships and Programs
- Expand The Volunteer Circle’s reach and impact regionally through partnerships and programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners to support the organization's mission and goals.
- Ensure each volunteer and organization understands the values and mission of The Volunteer Circle and how they align with our work.
- Facilitate collaboration internally across teams, with donors, and externally with strategic partners.
- Continuously integrate representatives from The Volunteer Circle, including local media and project beneficiaries, for better reach and external visibility.
Outreach and Impact Reporting
- Ensure The Volunteer Circle is a safe space for each member and intervene when members do not live up to the values of the Circle or jeopardize its accessibility and inclusion.
- Maintain a standard of excellence in all aspects of the organization's operations, including outreach and impact reporting.
- Produce an annual Impact Report.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, business administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role, resourcefulness in collecting and showcasing data from past and recent Volunteer Circle projects.
- Strong knowledge of governance, membership, partnerships, programs, outreach, and impact reporting in a non-profit organization.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, team building and capacity building.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets, timelines, and work plans.
- Proven experience in fundraising and grant writing.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of organizational operations.
