Key role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Governance and Membership

  • Develop accountability mechanisms to ensure transparency and improve relationships and trust within the Circle.
  • Recruit new members that are diverse in terms of expertise and encourage their active participation in the organization.
  • Develop roles and responsibilities for the growing team and ensure adherence to anti-fraud and vetting policies.
  • Facilitate fair and transparent elections each year and coordinate the leadership transition.

Partnerships and Programs

  • Expand The Volunteer Circle’s reach and impact regionally through partnerships and programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Ensure each volunteer and organization understands the values and mission of The Volunteer Circle and how they align with our work.
  • Facilitate collaboration internally across teams, with donors, and externally with strategic partners.
  • Continuously integrate representatives from The Volunteer Circle, including local media and project beneficiaries, for better reach and external visibility.

Outreach and Impact Reporting

  • Ensure The Volunteer Circle is a safe space for each member and intervene when members do not live up to the values of the Circle or jeopardize its accessibility and inclusion.
  • Maintain a standard of excellence in all aspects of the organization's operations, including outreach and impact reporting.
  • Produce an annual Impact Report.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, business administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role, resourcefulness in collecting and showcasing data from past and recent Volunteer Circle projects.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, membership, partnerships, programs, outreach, and impact reporting in a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, team building and capacity building.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, timelines, and work plans.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and grant writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of organizational operations.
