Description: 

Under the supervision of the Protection and Neutrality Team leader, supports the
development, implementation and monitoring of UNRWA's protection advocacy strategy in
Lebanon, identifying and organizing advocacy activities and engaging duty-bearers and other
stakeholders on identified protection priorities; he/ she develops and implements a system to
measure and evaluate progress against the Agency's advocacy goals;
Convenes and liaises with various stakeholders (Lebanese authorities, LPDC, Lebanese
professional orders, representatives of Chambers of Commerce, relevant UN agencies, NGOs,
universities, among others) to gather information, share analysis and promote joint advocacy
for the rights of Palestine Refugees; ensures that relevant stakeholders are regularly updated
on the situation of Palestine Refugees, and represents UNRWA in human rights coordination
forum, inputting into and reviewing joint products as appropriate;
Improves and systematizes data collection on legal rights issues relevant to Palestine refugees;
collects, updates and analyses existing as well as first-hand gathered data on Palestine
Refugees' situation; studies and conducts qualitative and quantitative data analysis to
extrapolates protection concerns, trends and proposes improvements thereof;
Leads and coordinates the exchange of information on legal rights issues across UNRWA
departments and strengthening internal reporting methods on identified protection priorities,
to improve information quality and raising awareness among those Departments' staff and
improving their knowledge and understanding;
Prepares advocacy statements, reports, presentations and briefings for internal and external
stakeholders and responds to information requests with the support of other units such as the
Field Legal Office; updates and produces new communication and awareness-raising material,
in coordination with the Field Public Information Office;
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
