his is a Generic Vacancy Announcement (GVA) for the Programme Officer (Social Assistance), NOB Talent Group.

Talent Groups at UNICEF are exclusive lists of pre-vetted, highly qualified candidates intended to fast-track recruitment processes as positions become available. After a rigorous selection process, successful candidates will be placed in the Programme Officer (NOB) Talent Group for UNICEF Lebanon for a period of 36 months. While placement in the Talent Group does not guarantee a position, it is an important resource for filling vacancies. Candidates placed into the Talent Group will be reviewed when a relevant position becomes available at and if found suitable, are offered placements through a direct selection process. Positions will be across UNICEF Lebanon’s offices.

 

For every child, support..

Under the supervision of the Programme Specialist (Social Assistance), NOC, you will support the operationalization and monitoring of Lebanon’s new national social assistance programme – the Lebanon National Social Grants programme. This programme aims at complementing existing anti-poverty programmes in the country by putting in place Lebanon’s first ever national social grants programme to provide integrated social assistance toward households experiencing specific lifecycle vulnerabilities, such as disability. Further, you will provide professional technical assistance and support for programme design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, in support of programme goals and objectives

To qualify as a champion you will have…

Education

A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or another relevant technical field.

Experience 

A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is required.

Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.

Background/familiarity with emergency is considered as an asset.

Experience in operations of cash programmes; knowledge of social assistance programming is considered as an assest.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

• Rights-based and Results-based approach and programming in UNICEF.

• UNICEF programme policy, procedures and guidelines in the Manual.

•  Methodology of programme/project management
