Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Programme Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Programme Officer will:

1.    Monitoring and Evaluation:

•    Undertake field visits to UNICEF-supported projects in the Palestinian camps and gatherings to monitor the implementation of the health-related projects and report information for supervisor on agreed performance indicators to drive more efficient management and accountability for result;
•    Participate in Mid-Year and Annual reviews meetings with partners and government counterparts;
•    Contribute to the progress and annual PPL reports in a timely manner, as required;

2.    Partnership and Coordination:

•    In the area of Child Development, the UN Volunteer will coordinate with partners to ensure:
-    Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in ECED and non-formal education programmes;
-    Provision of awareness sessions on healthy tips and nutrition for children and caregivers;
-    Proper implementation of kindergartens dental screening programmes in the camps and gatherings;
•    In the area of Youth and Adolescent Development, the UN Volunteer will coordinate with partners to ensure:
-    Proper implementation and reporting of the COVID-19 Youth-led initiatives in the Palestinian camps and gatherings, keeping an updated data base of the initiatives, and monitoring the expenditure;
-    Enrolment in short and medium-term competency and market-based skills trainings and innovation programmes; including Young People with Disabilities;
-    Provision of Life Skills training and coordinated activities supporting healthy lifestyles and the reduction of high-risk behaviors;
•    In the area of Child Protection, the UN Volunteer will contribute to:
-    Strengthening community mobilization for child rights and child protection, including through the End Violence Affecting Children initiative;
-    Promotion of the mainstreaming of psychosocial health promotion and prevention in schools and PHC centers;
•    In the area of Child Survival - Health, the UN Volunteer will support partners to ensure:
-    Provision of awareness sessions for children, youth and caregivers on COVID-19;
-    Implementation of COVID-19 response plan in the Palestinian camps and gatherings in coordination with colleagues in the section;
-    Health and WASH sensitization at partners’ centers and schools;
-    Proper and timely preparation, submission and monitoring of the vaccines and medical supplies forecast for PPL;
3.    Knowledge Management:
-    Support knowledge management through providing professional assistance in data collection and analysis;
-    Participate in the preparation of and making professional contribution to PPL reports required for the management and donors;

Bachelor's degree in Health (public health, nursing, nutrition or any other related area). Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years in health in the humanitarian/post-conflict sector is required. a) Qualifications, skills, experience, areas of expertise: • Experience in emergency preparedness, contingency planning, and response. • Field work experience particularly focused in the Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon an asset. • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development. • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel. • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment. • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines. • Have affinity with or interest in Palestinian Programme, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
