Assignment Context:
The Full Stack Web Developer will develop and maintain software applications following the UN established standards for web development, IT technologies, programming languages, and tools, also preparing, maintaining, and referencing project-base agreed technical, user, and functional specifications and documentations.
Task description:
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Associate Information Systems Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
• Translate user needs into technical requirements for implementation.
• Improve existing websites and systems through enhancements, optimizations, and integrations with related programs.
• Design, implement, and maintain websites and applications as per the UNICT strategy and ESCWA’s needs applying UX/UI concepts and principles, UN established standards for web design, technologies and tools and following security and data protection schemes.
• Conduct unit and integration testing, ensuring systems meet functional requirements.
• Ensure efficient deployment and ongoing support for live systems, including troubleshooting, data recovery and version control.
• Facilitate research on emerging technologies to evaluate and introduce innovative tools and approaches.
• Provide expertise in visual data representation and analytics.
• Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
• Prepare and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
• Deliver workshops and training sessions to users on the developed solutions.
• Take on additional responsibilities aligned with organizational priorities as directed by supervisors.
Languages
English, Level: Fluent, Required
Required Experience:
15 years of professional work experience, in the computer software industry as an ASP.NET Core developer with proficiency in front-end languages and libraries (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), back-end languages (C#), SQL Server, and open-source data visualization libraries like Apache ECharts is required, along with competency in C# and .NET Core is required.
- Knowledge in database design, and development using MS SQL Relational Database is required.
- Understanding of the concepts of user experience, user interface principles, and conceptual designs is required.
- Solid experience with version control tools, such as GIT is required.
The following are desirable:
• Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• At least 1 year of work experience with Web API development.
• Understanding of industry trends, latest web development standards, and technologies.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Mobile applications development.

Living Conditions and other Remarks:
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
This position is based in Beirut. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
This Assignment falls under a Special Programme Initiative where Expertise Differential is equivalent to 100% of the Monthly Living Allowance.
