Objective 1: Contributes to the development and formalization of TDH IT inclusion approach and strategy in Lebanon

In collaboration with Education, Child Protection and MEAL staff, develop an inclusion strategy for TDH IT in line with Sector best practices;

Technically support identification and development of strategic partnerships and collaborations related to Inclusion;

Support the CP specialist and education specialist across the mission in implementing the best practices related to inclusion mainstreaming;

Work with Head of Programs and Program Managers to develop proposals promoting inclusion;

Lead on the development of models and approaches of intervention related to Inclusion, in close coordination with the relevant technical specialists;

Work closely with Programme and MEAL staff on documenting best practices and lessons learned from projects and disseminating them internally and externally; 

Promote learning exchanges, dialogues, and documentation with country program staff and partners as well as contributing to regional-level initiatives as relevant;

Work with Human Resources department to ensure that HR policies and practices are inclusive;

Liaise with the child protection and the education specialists for program effectiveness and integrated programming;

Work with Communication department to ensure that inclusion is part of TDH IT communication and advocacy plans and activities;

Attend technical working groups meetings and share relevant information with higher management.

Objective 2: Contributes to the development and implementation of inclusion tools and practices for TDH IT Education and CP programs

Develop and coach teams on technical guidelines, tools and action plan that ensure inclusion in all TDH IT departments at project, programme and country levels;

Lead on the development of assessments focusing on inclusion

Support the development of assessments or situational analyses showcasing the needs, gaps, trends and responses in various sectors, with a strong inclusion lens

Design and contribute to the outreaching strategy in TDH IT along with the CP and education specialist to ensure no vulnerable child or family is left behind;

Ensure that program teams are able to identify and refer the most vulnerable households;

Guides the inclusion officer in supporting the outreach workers/social workers/educators to identify pedagogic resources needed to meet the needs of all children with emphasis on children with learning difficulties and disabilities, families and communities

Support the Inclusion officer and technical staff in the identification of children in need of specialized services and assistive devices;

Plans activities or supports measures that are specific to each student’s abilities, supports finding solution to remove barriers to learning and participation;

Support the inclusion officer in Monitoring the progress of children with additional educational and child protection needs.

Oversees the implementation of a referral scheme for beneficiaries in need of specialized support, including identification of reliable services and of suppliers who could provide needed technical aids;

Participate in relevant project meetings/calls; workshops for project start-up, review, and closing.

Objective 3: Ensures effective capacity building of TDH IT staff and partners on inclusion

Identify training and development needs of staff and partners on inclusion through conducting initial and regular capacity assessments;

Contribute to the design of staff and partners’ capacity building and development plans;

Develop, adapt and conduct Inclusion training packages and resources

Support staff and partners in strengthening their skills and technical capabilities in Inclusive approaches through training, ongoing mentoring, coaching, regular meetings, and other methods;

Provides training, on the job and methodological support and guidance to regular staff, teachers and facilitators on:

Early recognition of signs of difficulties and needs;

Determining appropriate activities that will aid the children benefit as effectively as possible; planning, adapting, modifying conventional facilitation methods and assessment tools to meet the individual needs of all children; developing multisensory teaching and CP activities and resources; ensuring that classroom, centers and extracurricular activities encourage the participation of all pupils;

Mobilizing resources within the schools/centers and their communities to assist in minimizing barriers to learning and participation for all students, not only those with impairments or those who are categorized as ‘having special educational needs’.

Together with Human Resources, conduct inductions, trainings, and refreshers for staff and partners on TDH IT Inclusion policy and procedures

Provides support and guidance to program staff in supporting the family and ensures their engagement in family engagement activities.

Participates in trainings organized by UNICEF or other agencies, and cascade trainings to TDH IT staff and partners

Objective 4:  Reporting, Learning and Capitalization

Provision of monthly report on progress;

Supports the MEAL Department through development and update of relevant tools;

Work with MEAL department and technical teams to analysis quantitative and qualitative data collected to support continuous improvement of programming;

Work with MEAL department to support knowledge management and learning practices;

Participate in regular programme review, and monitoring and evaluation actions to ensure quality implementation through regular technical guidance;

Ensures the correct reporting on disabilities/additional needs in Activity Info, Child Level Monitoring Tool, and narrative reports.
