Position: Senior Accountant, Full Time
Tahaddi is a Lebanese NGO established in 2008 whose aim is to empower families facing extreme poverty through the provision of education, health, and psychosocial support. Tahaddi principally works in Hay el Gharbeh, an informal settlement in Southern Beirut. Tahaddi runs a non-formal education center, a primary health clinic, and a psychosocial center. In addition, Tahaddi operates an income-generating sewing workshop.
Tahaddi Lebanon is currently hiring a full time Sr. Accountant. The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the organization-wide accounting operations including booking, payroll, tax declaration and periodic financial reports.
Reports to: Deputy Director
Location: Tahaddi Center, Hay el Gharbeh, Southern Beirut
Work type: Full-time (8:00 AM till 3:30 PM)
Detailed job description:
Management
- Record all entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
- Maintain all subsidiary accounts via validating, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions while resolving discrepancies when necessary.
- Conduct and manage payments: cash and bank.
- Create daily cash and reconciliation reports for petty cash.
- Periodically generate, evaluate, and analyze financial statements: balance sheet, profit & loss and trial balance
- Analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within Tahaddi Lebanon
- Prepare and Declare NSSF and Tax on Salaries (MoF) with Tahaddi’s auditor.
- Assist external auditor(s) by conducting end of year reconciliation of all accounts and preparing the required files for the audit process.
- Analyze and schedule general ledger accounts to promptly respond to the demands of external auditors.
- Create, Check and audit Monthly Payroll and send list to bank.
- Create monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Coordinate with the finance officer on appropriate fiscal financial strategies and reconcile donor budgets on monthly basis.
- Review accounting records to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain All financial and accounting hard and soft cop data
- Update Tahaddi’s finance and accounting policies and manual.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, or related field
- Five years related experience in related field
- Three years NGO experience
- Fluent in English and Arabic, French is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
