INSURANCE CONTRACT - Workmen Compensation for Daily Workers

GENERAL

For 40 years, the humanitarian aid organization Solidarités INTERNATIONAL has been committed to providing aid in the event of conflict and natural disasters. Our mission is to provide aid as quickly and as efficiently as possible to endangered populations by meeting their vital needs: drinking water, food and shelter.

After emergency, our humanitarian teams accompany the most vulnerable families and communities until they recover their livelihoods and self-sufficiency, to enable them to deal with the challenges of an uncertain future with dignity.

Solidarités INTERNATIONAL is particularly committed to fighting water-related diseases, the primary cause of death in the world today. Drawing on their expertise, our teams develop and carry out aid programs in the fields of water, sanitation and hygiene, as well as in the essential domains of food security and reconstruction.

CONTEXT

Daily workers are workers selected and contracted by the organization for a short period of time and for the performance of a particular specific task.

A daily worker cannot be employed beyond 10 days / months.

They are paid on the basis of a daily rate and payment may be made on a daily, weekly, or biweekly basis.

In most cases, they are affected by relatively rough ground tasks, where they may be exposed to injury. Such as:

- loading and unloading trucks;

- support distributions in the villages.

Daily Workers at SI do not benefit from the medical coverage offered by SI to its employees.

For that, and to make sure that our DW are safe during their working hours and ready to be hospitalized in case of any injury during working hours, we are requesting to sign an insurance contract to cover a Workmen Compensation Policy for DW.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of this contractual commitment with an insurance company is to cover the Workmen Compensation of the Daily Workers during the working hours with SI.

Compensation to be done in accordance to the Lebanese Labor Law no.136/83
