MAAN has been implementing a project that work on civic and political education of active youth since 2018. This project aims to enhance the effort of the youth right holders in their local communities and at the national level through implementing the workshops, seminars, initiatives, and youth exchanges.

Objective of the Advocacy campaign

To conduct an efficient campaign tackling the MAAN youth policy research: "سياسة شبابية عنهم وليست لهم".

In order to highlight the main gaps of the Government youth policy ratified and spotify the role of the youth in the creation and advocating of such policies. The campaign will be led in order to involve the youth all around Lebanon in the implementation and advocating of this policy.

Required Tasks

  • To support the development of the policy paper content and advocacy strategy and lead on the delivery of agreed advocacy objectives
    • Strategy:
      • Support the Project manager PM with the process of developing and setting the organization’s advocacy strategy.
      •  Develop strategic plans for agreed advocacy objectives.
    • Offline Campaign:
      • Implement the strategy and campaign. This includes designing and running events, liaising with stakeholders, and attending meetings and events, and advocacy platforms on behalf of the organization when needed.
      • Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with partners and within networks.
      •  Analyze policy documents to create the right content for the campaign.
      • Coordinate the development of campaigning materials in line with the organization’s current strategic plan.
      • Coordinate and manage the organization’s campaign groups including meetings, round tables, workshops, sessions, and all events
      • Support the PM and other team members in mobilizing the policy paper campaign.
    • Online campaign:
      • Writing, developing and producing campaign material
      • Creating content for the organization’s social media channel platforms
      • Networking with online media partners in order to publish the content created
      • Ensuring the exposure of the campaign in Audio-visual and print media
  • To support the advocacy and campaigning activities of the Activists Academy members:
    • Support the Activists academy members to implement relevant areas of their local advocacy campaign events.

 

Requested Qualifications

  • Education:
    • university degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Law, Media and Communications or a related field.
    • Substantive knowledge of the advocacy and campaign organization
  • Experience:
    • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public administration, or related area is required.
    • 5 years experience in digital communications and advocacy campaigning.
    • Excellent drafting and implementing of advocacy strategies is a must.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills in English and Arabic is a must.
    • Experience in digital community building is an asset.
    • Experience in digital platforms and social media management is an asset.
    • Proven excellent drafting skills including statements, blogs, articles, and talking points.
