Skoun- Outreach Officer

About the position:

In line with this project, the Outreach Officer is expected to draft, design and implement an outreach strategy taking into consideration the need for innovative activities and approaches that help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and the economic crisis on traditional outreach efforts. 

Location:Based in Beirut with frequent travels to Baalbeck and Tripoli.

Strategic

• Draft an outreach strategy including a clear positioning and objective for outreach as well as monthly plan of action with a timeline for online and offline activities that can support Skoun’s work across different regions.
• Plan and Oversee outreach activities in support of the different Skoun departments (drug prevention, advocacy, and treatment) where relevant and base strategy on actual needs and available budgets

Operational

• Train and coordinate a team of 16 field outreach officers in the Beqaa, Beirut and the North
• Prepare trainings & boosters and develop the M&E of these trainings & boosters
• Conduct mapping of intervention areas
• Set areas & monthly calendar of interventions with Outreach Volunteers; adapt as needed and share monthly with the project manager. Regular Team Meetings & communication with Outreach Volunteers to review previous interventions, assess with team and provide any other support as needed.
• Implement 2 to 4 outreach interventions with Outreach Volunteers every month to ensure quality of the interventions and understand better challenges faced on the field
• Draft monthly reports including all implemented activities, and the M&E of these activities using Skoun’s tools and templates
• Develop, adapt or re-adjust appropriate and accessible communication / IEC and awareness-raising tools in coordination with relevant Skoun staff.
• Create content for digital and online outreach in coordination with Skoun’s communication consultant
• Advise project manager about the implementation of the outreach component as needed
• Collect necessary data on the outreach activity, and provide it to the project manager as needed
• Research and follow-up with other organizations and networks working on mental health and health in general to map out outreach efforts carried out by others in the areas of interventions.
• Maintain a calendar of traditional outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities (when this becomes possible again pending COVID situation)
• Assist in the organization of special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives (when this becomes possible again pending COVID situation)
• Attend coordination meetings with project manager and other relevant staff.
• Other tasks as needed.
