DESCRIPTION:

SKOUN is a Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental organization and one of the first outpatient facilities that provide accessible treatment, education and protection for all people who use drugs while maintaining its values regarding inclusion, accessibility, integrity and dignity.

For 20 years, SKOUN has been caring for the most vulnerable populations in Lebanon and strives to ensure drug use and addiction are treated as primary health issues.

SKOUN aims to support the development of community-based substance use and mental health system in line with the National Mental Health Strategy and model of care, tackling gender barriers in service access and gender biases in service provision through offering quality and gender-sensitive services to women, men, boys, girls and gender non-conforming individuals living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk.

Job Summary:

The psychologist will be responsible for conducting 2 sessions per month for Skoun’s outreach team, who face significant stress and emotional challenges in their work with displaced populations (IDPs).

The psychologist will provide guidance on stress management, coping strategies, and trauma resilience to support the team in maintaining their mental health.

These interactive sessions will equip the team with practical tools to manage the emotional demands of their work.

Additionally, the psychologist will provide a brief report summarizing the sessions and offering recommendations for ongoing mental health support.

Tasks and Duties:

Duties:

  • Provide two 2-hours interactive mental health sessions for the Skoun team each month, focusing on stress management, coping mechanisms, and resilience-building
  • Facilitate discussions and activities that promote mental well-being and provide tools for managing work-related stress
  • Tailor the content of the sessions to address the specific challenges faced by the team while working with displaced populations (IDPs)
  • Offer guidance on managing stress, trauma, and emotional challenges related to the high-pressure nature of the team's work
  • Help the team members develop resilience strategies to manage their emotional well-being
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all discussions and information shared during the sessions

Deliverables

  • Gather feedback from the participants after each session to assess the effectiveness of the sessions
  • Prepare a brief report summarizing the content of the sessions, participant feedback, and any recommendations for continued mental health support

Required Skills and Experience

Educational Background

  • License to practice is a must
  • Bachelor degree in Psychology and Master in Clinical Psychology
  • Additional Addiction studies and experience are a plus

  • About 2 to 3 years of related experience in a similar position and responsibility, preferably in a similar industry
