The Job

Siren Analytics seeks to hire a Business Development Officer to work as part of a growing team, to advance the overall business development efforts of the organization, grow market share and achieve business objectives.You will explore and diversify new business opportunities from institutional, corporate and other donors. You will improve market analysis, review and update the donor analysis needed for business planning, and contribute to cultivating a clients’ and donor base. You will contribute to identifying new organizational approaches to generating revenue, and sustaining and developing SIREN Analytics competitive niche in the MENA consulting market. You will also contribute to the quality design and timely submission of expression of interests, concept notes and proposal packages in line with Siren Analytics development strategy and business priorities.

In this role you will actively engage with Siren Analytics teams as well as Siren Associates and CME teams to share updates, targets and priorities. You will be a member of the Business Development Team where you will share relevant information.

This role will report directly to the Business Development Manager and work with and interact with the business development, strategic communication and program teams as well as with managers in finance and operations to achieve and support the goals and mission of the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business development team to develop Siren’s strategies, identifying key priorities, stakeholders, and opportunities and threats to be addressed through a cohesive, results driven approach
  • Identify potential programme development opportunities, both around existing programming and external offers from established and new donors, building on Siren Analytics’s core skill sets
  • Work with appropriate project teams and other colleagues to develop concept notes and budgets in response to identified opportunities
  • Contribute to the delivery of formal tenders, including drafting expression of interests, bid components, quality assuring tender documents, and ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Where tenders are successful, support all aspects of project set up
  • Assist in mapping and regular monitoring of current environment in terms of potential donors, partners, beneficiaries, thematic areas, and geographies
  • Assist in setting up business development processes (bid go/no go processes, bid tracking database, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and roll-out of business development policies, guidelines, and toolkits
  • Assist in on-boarding new team members
  • Facilitate conversations across project teams to identify functional issues and lessons learnt
  • Contribute to the communication portfolio

Qualifications

We are looking to recruit an individual who has five to seven years of professional experience, of which three in proposal/business development and who has strong experience in project design, both on programmatic and financial levels. You will have working experience with major multilateral and bilateral donors’ platforms and tendering requirements (e.g. World bank, USAID, EU, UK FCDO, etc.) and an excellent ability to write proposals, reports, briefing papers and research in English.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working within teams, as well as excellent time management and problem-solving skills. You will have good facilitation skills and you will have the ability to deliver presentations and briefings. You will have a demonstrable ability to liaise and coordinate with teams from different sectors, and it is desirable that you have knowledge of the context of Lebanon and the MENA region.
