SHiFT is a social innovation hub leading the transformation of post-conflict and/or marginalized zones towards peaceful and prosperous communities. We bring people together and bridge differences through building capacities, raising awareness, creating opportunities, promoting success models and mentoring. SHiFT has a community-center on one of the former frontlines in Tripoli. The center currently provides a neutral space where people can meet and mobilize over shared causes, use incubation services or attend one of SHiFT’s training programs, and try to deal with the unsettled past. Our main programs are: Tasaloh (Reconciliation) program; Tatweer (Development) program; and Tamteen (Empowerment) program.

SHiFT Social Innovation Hub is seeking a IT Assistant with the following qualifications and to deliver the below tasks and responsibilities:

 

Configuration and troubleshooting:

  • Sets up equipment such as laptops, tablets, data projectors, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly for events and trainings;
  • Assisting with network, system and security management in the office and on the field.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, updates, networks, printers and scanners
  • Detects, diagnoses and resolves most PC, printer and peripheral device faults
  • Configure and Troubleshoot VoIP Telephony
  • Supporting with end user system updates and monitoring, including : Spyware removal and testing, virus checking and ensuring backup of data files
  • Following up with user management such as adding and deleting users and working with emails
  • Monitoring printers, copiers, and fax machines to make sure that we have enough cartridges/ toners and that they are working properly and getting regular maintenance
  • Ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Managing and troubleshooting office security systems: door access control, CCTV and alarms
  • Checks internet connectivity is maintained in the different locations

Planning and documentation

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance and upgrades
  • Managing IT related assets and equipment (computers, servers, routers, copiers, tablets)
  • Preserving assets, information security and controlling structures
  • Supporting with technical documentation of systems and processes
  • Forming IT systems, networks and technical knowledge base for common issues experienced by end users
  • Designing, developing, implementing and coordinating systems, policies and procedures
  • Developing and documenting IT procedures and policies including the network infrastructure plans for offices
  • Works to give guidance to others on the ICT policy that outlines acceptable use of ICT equipment;
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective sourcing and purchasing for the ICT category
  • Introduces and trains staff on SharePoint;
  • Conducting user level training on daily applications used, including, but not limited  to : Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer related skills

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in information technology, computer science or any other related field
  • Minimum two years of experience in IT support
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 admin
  • Network security and management
  • Skills in data management: creating data schemes, applying access distribution, maintaining data and protecting in terms of backups
  • Skills with firewall (web filtering, web publishing, intrusion prevention, etc.).
  • Knowledge of various networking systems concepts including email, firewall, client servers, network security, network protocols, etc.
  • Work as a team member and to promote a positive work environment
  • Displaying a high level of professionalism and end user satisfaction
  • Technical writing experience for reporting and case evaluation
  • Fluency in English
