PSS Facilitator - Social Worker Consultant

SHEILD is looking to partner with a service provider, referred to as the "Social Worker," to conduct PSS and life skills sessions to targeted beneficiaries in Jezzine District.

Scope of Work:

  1. Psychosocial Support and Life Skills Sessions:
  • Develop and implement psychosocial support (PSS) and life skills sessions for community members and participants, including outreach for new beneficiaries.
  • Tailor sessions to address the specific needs and challenges faced by the target population.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sessions and adjust content as needed.
  1. Community Event Planning and Organization:
  • Plan and organize events aimed at fostering community if need be.
  • Ensure effective communication and participation of community members in planned events.
  • Conduct awareness sessions.
  1. Coordination with Municipalities and Stakeholders:
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with local municipalities and relevant stakeholders if need be.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other partners to enhance the impact of social work interventions if need be.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on project activities if need be.
  1. Focus Group Discussions:
  • Conduct focus group discussions to gather insights on community needs, concerns, and aspirations.
  • Analyze findings and provide feedback to inform program adjustments.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and ethical conduct of focus group discussions.
  1. Referral Support:
  • Maintain a comprehensive referral network and stay updated on available resources.

 

Skill Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social work.
  2. A minimum of two years of work experience in this field.
  3. Computer and Microsoft Office knowledge is a must.
  4. Proven experience in conducting psychosocial support and life skills sessions.
  5. Strong community engagement and facilitation skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Familiarity with local municipalities and stakeholders
  8. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  10. Flexible and willing to work on weekends as needed.
  11. Stress tolerance: Ability to work under pressure.
  12. Assist in the preparation of reports and updates if need be.
  13. Availability of a Car.

 

The selected social worker must be ready to start services immediately upon contract signing. Please note that the locations where the project implementation will take place and the services needed will receive prior approval from SHEILD's security unit due to the current security situation in South Lebanon.
