We are searching for…

A Consultant for 5 months who will plan, organize and implement two regional meetings to promote the collaboration and dialogue among Syrian Civil Society actors and assist in the implementation of one international meeting to promote the collaboration between Syrian Civil Society actors and Track II practitioners and Track I officials, and strengthen the capacities of Syrian agents of change in mediation and conflict resolution.

 

In this position, the consultant will work closely with the Track II Mediation Program Manager and coordinate with the Selat Wasel team Syria program specialist to implement the meetings.

 

Your contribution

The roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Take the lead in the preparation, implementation and follow-up to the regional meetings in Beirut and Gaziantep (including agenda setting, all communications and promotion of the event, local implementation, follow-up with all relevant parties);
  • Conduct procurement and payments according to SFCG policies and obtain necessary approvals for purchases before expenses occur;
  • Provide support in the preparation, implementation and follow-up to the final international, multi-track meeting (including agenda setting, communications and promotion of the event, local implementation, follow-up with all relevant parties);
  • Coordinate closely with the Beirut team
  • Support the Track II Unit with reporting to donors and participants;
  • Cultivate relevant contacts throughout the project by scheduling regular meetings and providing  Search staff with minutes all meetings;
  • Create a database of the contacts established throughout the project to be shared with Search staff;
  • Travel as needed for the completion of the above tasks.

The Consultant should meet the following requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of the Syrian content.
  • University degree with a a minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Established networks with Syrian civil society both in Syria and abroad
  • Excellent diplomatic and networking skills.
  • Ability to treat sensitive information confidentially.
  • Demonstrated writing and analytical skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Proven organizational and management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Dynamic leader with creative problem-solving skills, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
