Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Assessment: Get to know each patient's unique story by understanding their physical condition, medical history, and individual needs. Carefully measure and assess their residual limbs to create a prosthetic that fits comfortably and functions seamlessly in their daily life.
2. Design and Fabrication: Use advanced materials and technology to design custom prosthetic limbs. Create molds, casts, or digital scans of the patient’s limbs. Work with technicians to fabricate prosthetics that align with the patient’s requirements and lifestyle.
3. Fitting and Adjustment: Fit prosthetic devices and ensure proper alignment, comfort, and functionality. Adjust, modify, or enhance the device’s performance and the patient’s comfort.
4. Patient Education: Explain to patients how to use, maintain, and care for their prosthetic limbs. Do the needed exercises and rehabilitation to adapt to the prosthesis.
5. Follow-Up Care: Stay connected with patients through regular follow-ups to ensure their prosthetics are in great condition and support their progress. Address any concerns by making repairs or replacing components when needed, helping them maintain comfort and confidence in their daily activities.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with the dedicated team, including physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care. Stay updated on advancements in prosthetic technology and techniques.
7. Administrative Tasks: Maintain detailed patient records, including measurements, designs, and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
