The Opportunity

Under the overall supervision of Monitoring Evaluation and Accountability (MEAL) Manager, the MEAL officer will be responsible for undertaking coordination efforts related to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning across the Lebanon country programs. More specifically, the MEAL officer will work closely with MEAL team and program teams mainly on accountability and evaluation components.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • University Degree in social sciences or equivalent
  • SPSS (software package for statistical analysis), STATA (statistical software for data science), or R (software for analysis) is required as a must for this position
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Arabic and good written and spoken English
  • Experience and knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and Learning approach and system.
  • Skills in computer and statistical software such as Microsoft and SPSS, STATA, or R.
  • Skills in designing and implementing information management and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to use computer programs to collect, document and share assessment and monitoring results.
  • Demonstrated understanding of emergency response activities.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s MEAL approach, aims, values and principles.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Previous experience in data analysis and coordination.
  • Previous experience with Save the Children programs, within MEAL is a plus.
  • Ability to work in challenging and complex environments.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
