ROLE PURPOSE: The post holder will work with the Food Security and Livelihoods team and directly with the Food Security and Livelihoods Officers to ensure timely delivery of project activities.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Food Security and Livelihoods Officer

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

- Support field level technical assessments in coordination with the Food Security and Livelihoods response lead and other Save the Children thematic areas and/or other external sector agencies, ensuring assessment findings are documented and that all assessments include a specific analysis of children’s needs.

- With support from the Food Security and Livelihoods Officer or other senior program staff, develop project plans and budgets, contributing towards an overall project implementation.
- Working closely with supervisees (Partner Field Assistants/enumerators) to ensure project/sector objectives are met per time across projects being supported.
- With the support of Food Security and Livelihoods Officer, support project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against log frames, individual performance management work plans).
- Coordinate field level implementation of projects activities alongside staff of partner organizations.
- Work closely with the Sector Lead, Program Manager and other senior program staff, support timely program and donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal Save the Children requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
- Coordinates with Save the Children’s other sectors (Education, Child Protection, Health/Nutrition and Shelter) to ensure integrated and efficient programming, including ensuring the cross-referral of beneficiaries.
- Help in the identification and recruitment of community mobilizers and/or project volunteers.
- With support from the Food Security and Livelihoods Officer and/or other senior program staff, identify program supplies needs and coordinate with the logistics team to put in place a sensible phased procurement plan.
- With support from the Monitoring and Evaluation team support the Monitoring and Evaluation plan implementation within the Food Security and Livelihoods projects.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly planning and submit regular reports to Officer.
- With support from the Accountability Lead ensure accountability is enforced in all project activities as well as ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design/implementation.
- Work closely with partners and their staff to ensure project activities are implemented on time and within the stipulated quality.
- To ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Development studies or similar field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in development programs, preferably working in food security & livelihoods, and with experience with distributions
- Experience in field work and community mobilization
- Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
- Computer skills (especially Excel)
- Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment
- Available to travel in country
