Project Manager for Cash for Work Project

1. Description
The project comprises three types of cash for work activities targeting 900 workers: food production activities, including the production and distribution of daily meals and preserves baskets to 500 vulnerable families in targeted neighborhoods; agricultural activities including urban farming, small-scale farming; and crafts activities. Food production activities and Agriculture will run for 5 cycles, while the craft activities will run for 4 cycles. Each cycle will start with a period of training, part of which will be technical, and will differ from one sub-activity to another, and part of which will be cross-cutting across all sub-activities, over two days. The latter part will include onboarding training on PSEA, code of conduct, non-violent communication, work ethics and well-being. Once training is complete, the workers will move on to the production phase.
2. Objectives
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing managerial leadership to the project, manage and support the day-to-day activities and resources of the project, with special emphasis on coordination and networking, management, and mobilization of resources.
3. Responsibilities:
Project Management and Implementation:
- Develop detailed project work plans and ensure adherence to timelines.
- Coordinate the identification and selection of CfW beneficiaries based on established criteria.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of CfW activities, ensuring compliance with safety and labor regulations.
- Ensure proper management of tools, equipment, and materials for CfW activities.
2. Financial and Budgetary Oversight:
- Manage the CfW project budget, ensuring expenditures align with approved plans.
- Oversee the timely and accurate distribution of cash payments to beneficiaries, in coordination with the finance team.
- Prepare and submit financial reports in accordance with donor requirements.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain monitoring mechanisms to track project progress and impact.
- Conduct regular field visits to supervise activities and ensure quality implementation.
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports, including data analysis and success stories.
- Address challenges and propose corrective actions as necessary.
4. Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing livelihoods, Cash for Work, or community development projects.
- Proven experience in managing teams and budgets.
- Strong understanding of cash-based interventions and safety standards in CfW programs.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in [languages required, e.g., English and Arabic].
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Experience:
- At least Five years demonstrable experience working on project development and implementation, including financial/budget management, procurement, and reporting.
- Knowledge and management experience with project management methodologies including results-based management.
Reporting and Supervision
The Project Manager will report to the Program Manager.
