Invitation to Bid - PSEA, Non-violent communication, work ethics Trainer - TOR Ref#003

1. Description

The project comprises three types of cash for work activities targeting 900 workers: food production activities, including the production and distribution of daily meals and preserves baskets to 500 vulnerable families in targeted neighborhoods; agricultural activities including urban farming, small-scale farming; and crafts activities.  Food production activities and Agriculture will run for 5 cycles, while the craft activities will run for 4 cycles.  Each cycle will start with a period of training, part of which will be technical, and will differ from one sub-activity to another, and part of which will be cross-cutting across all sub-activities, over two days. The latter part will include onboarding training on PSEA, code of conduct, non-violent communication, work ethics and well-being. Once training is complete, the workers will move on to the production phase.

2. Objectives

The primary objectives of the training program are:

  • To enhance participants' understanding of Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) principles, standards, and their application within the organization.
  • To ensure participants are familiar with the organization's Code of Conduct and ethical guidelines, and understand their responsibilities in upholding them.
  • To equip participants with non-violent communication skills to promote positive and respectful interactions in the workplace.
  • To foster a culture of professionalism, integrity, and work ethics that align with the organization's values and mission.
  • To provide practical tools, strategies, and resources for participants to effectively prevent and respond to instances of misconduct, ethical dilemmas, and conflicts.

Scope of Work:

The trainer will:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive training program covering PSEA, Code of Conduct, Non-Violent Communication, and Work Ethics.
  • Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, case studies, and role plays.
  • Deliver 45 interactive training sessions that encourage active participation, reflection, and discussion.
  • Facilitate discussions on PSEA principles, prevention strategies, reporting mechanisms, and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Provide guidance on the organization's Code of Conduct, ethical decision-making, and creating an ethical work environment.
  • Introduce non-violent communication techniques, including active listening, empathy, and constructive conflict resolution.
  • Address specific topics such as power dynamics, consent, respect for boundaries, and building healthy professional relationships.
  • Offer practical scenarios, exercises, and examples to enhance participants' understanding and application of the training content.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the training aligns with existing policies, guidelines, and legal frameworks.

Deliverables:

The trainer will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • A detailed training plan outlining the objectives, session outlines, and methodology.
  • Training materials, including presentations, handouts, case studies, and supplementary resources.
  • Pre- and post-training assessments or surveys to measure participants' knowledge, attitudes, and confidence levels.
  • A final report summarizing the training activities, outcomes, participant feedback, and recommendations for future actions.

Qualifications:

The trainer should possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in designing and delivering training programs on PSEA, Code of Conduct, Non-Violent Communication, and Work Ethics.
  • In-depth knowledge of PSEA principles, ethical guidelines, non-violent communication techniques, and work ethics.
  • Familiarity with relevant international frameworks, guidelines, and legal frameworks related to the respective topics.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and empower diverse audiences.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and contextual nuances related to PSEA, communication, and work ethics.

Budget:

A budget should be developed, outlining the costs associated with the training program, including the trainer's fees, travel expenses (if applicable), and any required materials or resources. The organization and the trainer should agree upon the budget in advance.

Confidentiality:

The trainer should maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared during the training program and adhere to the organization's data protection and privacy policies.
