Invitation to Bid - PSEA, MHPSS and Referrals Trainer - TOR Ref#004
1. Description
The project comprises three types of cash for work activities targeting 900 workers: food production activities, including the production and distribution of daily meals and preserves baskets to 500 vulnerable families in targeted neighborhoods; agricultural activities including urban farming, small-scale farming; and crafts activities. Food production activities and Agriculture will run for 5 cycles, while the craft activities will run for 4 cycles. Each cycle will start with a period of training, part of which will be technical, and will differ from one sub-activity to another, and part of which will be cross-cutting across all sub-activities, over two days. The latter part will include onboarding training on PSEA, code of conduct, non-violent communication, work ethics and well-being. Once training is complete, the workers will move on to the production phase.
Ruwwad El Tanmeya is committed to ensuring that its staff members are well-equipped to address critical issues related to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and referrals for vulnerable populations. This training aims to build the capacity of the staff in these areas, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to handle sensitive cases while adhering to ethical standards and organizational policies. The training will also help staff understand their roles and responsibilities regarding referrals to appropriate services.
2. Objectives
By the end of the 3 training sessions, participants will:
- PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse):
- Understand the principles of PSEA and the significance of maintaining a safe environment for program participants.
- Recognize signs of sexual exploitation and abuse and know how to report and respond to them appropriately.
- Familiarize themselves with Ruwwad El Tanmeya’s PSEA policies and protocols.
- MHPSS (Mental Health and Psychosocial Support):
- Understand the basics of mental health and psychosocial support, and its relevance in humanitarian work.
- Recognize the psychological needs of vulnerable populations, including trauma and stress-related disorders.
- Be equipped with basic skills to provide immediate psychosocial support and ensure the well-being of beneficiaries.
- Referrals:
- Understand the process of referring beneficiaries to relevant services, ensuring confidentiality and dignity.
- Be able to identify appropriate referral pathways for PSEA and MHPSS cases.
- Develop the skills to ensure that beneficiaries receive the care and support they need from external services.
3. Scope of Work:
The training will cover the following key areas:
- PSEA
- Definitions and principles of PSEA.
- Codes of conduct and ethical standards.
- Reporting and case management protocols.
- Creating a safe environment for beneficiaries.
- MHPSS
- Introduction to mental health and psychosocial support.
- Psychological first aid and its application.
- Approaches for working with individuals experiencing trauma.
- Building resilience within communities.
- Referrals
- Understanding the referral process.
- Identifying appropriate local services (MHPSS, legal aid, healthcare, etc.).
- Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding data.
4. Deliverables:
A comprehensive training session covering PSEA, MHPSS, and referral pathways.
Training materials, including handouts, resources, and a participant manual.
A post-training evaluation to assess knowledge gained and areas for further development.
Qualifications:
The trainer should possess the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in designing and delivering training programs on PSEA, MHPSS and referral pathways.
- In-depth knowledge of PSEA principles, lined up with organization’ internal policy, MHPSS framework, actor working in the referral pathways.
- Familiarity with relevant international frameworks, guidelines, and legal frameworks related to the respective topics.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and empower diverse audiences.
- Sensitivity to cultural and contextual nuances related to PSEA, communication, and work ethics.
5. Budget:
A budget should be developed, outlining the costs associated with the training program, including the trainer's fees, travel expenses (if applicable), and any required materials or resources. The organization and the trainer should agree upon the budget in advance.
6. Confidentiality:
The trainer should maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared during the training program and adhere to the organization's data protection and privacy policies.
