Expert - Civil or electrical Engineering services to train selected women on solar systems’ assembly and installation

The Rene Moawad Foundation is requesting an Expert - Civil or electrical Engineering services to train selected women on solar systems’ assembly and installation; under the project entitled “Fostering Unity through Accessible WASH Services in North Lebanon” implemented under the framework of SHABAKE 2 – EMPOWERING ORGANIZATIONS TO BETTER SUPPORT VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES AND KEY POPULATIONS IN LEBANON.

Objective of the Assignment
The primary objective of this training is to:
1. Build the capacity of 10 women in understanding the principles of solar energy.
2. Provide hands-on training in installing, operating, and maintaining solar energy systems.
3. Empower participants to utilize their skills for potential employment or entrepreneurial opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Key Deliverables
1. Training Plan: A detailed plan including topics, timeline, and methodology.
2. Training Materials: Manuals and presentations for participants.
3. Training Delivery: Conduct theoretical and practical sessions.
4. Evaluation Report: A summary of participant progress, feedback, and overall training outcomes.

Scope of Work
Under the supervision and in coordination with the Project Coordinator, the consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:
1. Develop a detailed training curriculum tailored to beginners, emphasizing practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
2. Deliver a comprehensive training program over [3 days], combining classroom sessions and practical demonstrations.
3. Assess participants’ understanding through interactive sessions, pre and post evaluations.
4. Submit a final report summarizing the training outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future initiatives.

Consultant Qualifications
The consultant wishing to be considered for the services described herein should have the following qualifications:
1. A degree in renewable energy, electrical engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (civil works, solar projects and solid waste management) and preferably working experience with agencies (INGO, LNGO and UN) to be familiar with the adopted approach
3. Proven experience in delivering training on solar systems.
4. Strong facilitation skills with a focus on hands-on learning.
5. Experience working with women or marginalized groups is an asset.
6. Fluency in writing and spoken English and Arabic is required.

The consultant should provide the following:
- CV
- Registration Card in the Order of Engineer
- Financial offer
- Portfolio or List of similar projects implemented
- Reference letters
 

Language requirements
All requested reports/deliverables shall be written in English. (Arabic if requested)

Duration:
The duration of this assignment is between January and February 2025.

Payment terms
The Consultant is expected to complete and submit:
- the approved deliverable
- relevant invoice and timetable
to be able to process the payment
