Job Purpose:

  • Provide psychological assessment, care and follow-up to project beneficiaries (women and children) with special focus on gender-based violence, early marriage, among other topics relevant to the projects.
  • Utilize group and individual sessions as well as a hotline for psychological support and counselling.
  • Support PARD staff to improve the quality of specialized services provided to at risk beneficiaries in different locations.

Responsibilities:

The clinical psychologist will perform a series of tasks:

  1. Outreach within the target community (mainly refugees) through support from project coordinators, community health workers and other key personnel or focal points conducted at the field level in order to form a viable network of beneficiaries.
  2. Identification of beneficiaries in need of psychological care and counselling
  3. Identification of problems through a variety of tools
  4. Diagnosis: After identifying each and every one of the patient's problems and reviewing her pre-existing records and history, the clinical psychologist will use the information she has collected to form the most accurate diagnosis possible.
  5. Establishment of goals: Before developing a treatment plan, it is important that the clinical psychologist works with the patient to identify her personal goals, as this will help inform what the treatment plan should be.
  6. Development and implementation of a treatment plan: Once the clinical psychologist has identified the patient's problems and goals and has formed a diagnosis, she will develop a comprehensive treatment plan that is designed to help the patient achieve her goals over a period of time.
  7. Monitoring: As the patient progresses through her treatment plan, the clinical psychologist will monitor and document the patient's improvements and setbacks. With each new development, the psychologist will work with the patient to help them overcome any obstacles that arise.

Requirements

  • Female
  • Native speaker of Arabic with excellent English writing skills.
  • Familiarity with women’s rights, GBV, refugee situation as well as relevant implemented laws in Lebanon.
  • High level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity and confidentiality while working or coordinating with beneficiaries and all internal or external parties.
  • Flexibility in working with beneficiaries as sessions might be conducted in different settings to facilitate the beneficiary’s time and other barriers.
  • Proven work experience as clinical psychologist
  • Experience in clinical psychology in an NGO setting, or dealing with refugees.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management to ensure targets are met regularly.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting)
  • Degree in Psychology
