Promoting Capacities Of Students In Mine Risk Education In Schools

The goal of the training workshop is to promote the capacities of students in mine risk education in order to enable them organize mine risk education activities in their schools.

A prominent need is also the capacity building of activists so that they can cope with and spread appropriate MRE messages in contexts of heavy use of cluster munitions and UXO in addition to the landmine problem.

Overall Objectives: 
List the pillars of mine action. List three different types of mines. Recognize through visual material three different kinds of and shapes of landmines, cluster bombs and unexploded ordnance.
Activities: 
List five dangerous areas. List and recognize mine alert signs. List three types of injuries resulting from landmine explosions. List names and locations of three prosthetic workshops in their countries. List four mine risk education products the participants were exposed to during the training. List and recognize three mine risk education messages. Plan and execute a mine risk education session targeting a local committee.
