The UK FCDO-funded Lebanon Enterprise and Employment Programme (LEEP) supports SMEs to grow their business and create sustained jobs for low-skilled Lebanese workers as well as temporary jobs for Syrian refugees. This is being done through interventions including the provision of matching grants and business advisory services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to support their capacity to create jobs. LEEP works closely with financial institutions and BDS providers to enhance access to finance, stimulate growth-oriented financing, and provide quality Business Development Services for SMEs. The programme incentivizes increased employment through permanent jobs for Lebanese and temporary jobs for Syrian workers (in line with Lebanese labour laws and regulations).
As part of the Palladium’s engagement with FCDO and British Embassy in Lebanon, LEEP Team is also working with wider stakeholders to elicit key insights and lessons that may be contributing towards refining policies geared towards sustainability and growth of SMEs. The primary responsibilities of this short-term assignment is to support the execution of LEEP’s Policy Advocacy Plan.
