Program Description: The Nawaya Network is an organization that develops the income-generating skills of underprivileged youth via entrepreneurship, employability, and economic development programs. One of these programs is called “The Employment Hub” which is a three-month program in partnership with Generation of Innovation Leaders - UNICEF (GIL), where participating youth are taught employability skills online and participate in a one-month internship. The aim of this program is to help youth strengthen their work experience and employability skills to improve their chances of finding a job. The latter part of the program connects them with mentors and coaches who help them with the job application process to increase their employment prospects. The program also aims to support these youth financially by offering a small stipend throughout the duration of the program.

Job Description:

The Nawaya Network is seeking a part-time soft skills trainer for this Employment Hub program with the following tasks:

Design a curriculum with a summary lesson plan and a PowerPoint Presentation and provide training sessions on the following topics:

  • How to Write a Cover Letter Basics
  • Introduction to Communication
  • Importance of Teamwork (and tips to help you become a team player)
  • Creative Thinking and Problem Solving
  • How to Give and Receive Feedback
  • Conflict Management
  • How to Network
  • Time Management 
  • Job Interview Preparation 

Provide training sessions on the above topics on Zoom to a class of 20 individuals to improve their employability skills

  • The trainer will provide around 60-70 hours (excluding lesson plan and PPT creation) of implementation of the lesson plans to a group of 20 youth in need of employability skills 

The trainer will design the lesson plans for each of the sessions mentioned above and will submit the lesson plan along with a PowerPoint Presentation to The Nawaya Network before the start of the training sessions. Compensation will be provided for prep time and curriculum design, as well as for the hourly online training sessions, for a total of up to $2300. 

Skills:

  • At least three years experience as a soft skills/employability trainer
  • Proven experience in content creation and curriculum design 
  • Arabic and English fluency is a must (spoken and written)
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Independent, adaptable, flexible, and hardworking
