Purpose of the Role:
The Protection Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the effective coordination, implementation, Quality assurance planning, supervision, and reporting of Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities. This includes closely with social workers, Participants, and the project coordinator to ensure the smooth implementation of ToT (Training of Trainers) classes, community sessions, and data monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Beneficiary Review and Validation
    • Review and validate the list of outreached beneficiaries for PFA/PSS ToT classes, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
    • Coordinate with the outreach team to address resolve discrepancies or gaps in the beneficiary list.
  2. Class Supervision and Reporting
    • Oversee the implementation of PFA/PSS ToT classes, ensure they meet established project guidelines and objectives.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the quality and delivery of training sessions.
    • Prepare detailed reports on the progress, challenges, and outcomes of the classes for the Project Coordinator.

 

  1. Community Session Supervision
    • Supervise the delivery of PFA/PSS sessions to community members, ensuring alignment with project goals.
    • Provide guidance to social workers to maintain the quality and relevance of session content.
    • Regularly follow up with social workers to ensure proper monitoring, documentation, and feedback on the sessions.
  2. Data Management and Reporting
  • Monitor field data entry processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Analyze collected data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Compile comprehensive data reports to inform evidence-based decision-making by the Project Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Humanitarian Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in PFA/PSS programming or related humanitarian fieldwork.
  • Strong supervisory and reporting skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data collection, entry, and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Kobo, or similar software).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field setting.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

  • Proven experience in training or capacity-building initiatives, such as ToT workshops or community awareness sessions.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of local cultural and community dynamics, enabling tailored support and programming.
