Tasks and Responsibilities of a Psychologist in the Project

Assessment and Diagnosis

Conduct psychological assessments to identify trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Evaluate the specific needs of women and adolescent girls with disabilities to tailor interventions.

Individual and Group Therapy

Provide one-on-one counseling and psychotherapy to address trauma and emotional distress.

Facilitate group therapy sessions to build resilience, promote peer support, and reduce isolation.

Trauma-Informed Interventions

Develop and implement interventions sensitive to the effects of conflict and displacement.

Use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness techniques.

Capacity Building and Training

Train caregivers, community workers, and staff on psychological first aid and basic mental health support.

Educate communities to reduce stigma around mental health and promote inclusion.

Psychoeducation

Provide information on mental health to beneficiaries, helping them understand and manage symptoms.

Promote self-care strategies and stress management techniques.

Collaboration and Advocacy

Work with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers) to deliver comprehensive support.

Advocate for the mental health needs of women and adolescent girls with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Track the progress of individuals and groups through regular follow-ups.
