Financial manager
Description:
The main responsibilities and tasks of the Financial Manager are:
Planning and Policy
- Plan and conduct effective financial and related operational reviews.
- Identify internal control risks, program risks, and operational cost reduction opportunities.
- Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop financial project plans and forecasts.
- Participate effectively in policy and strategy development as a member of the senior management team.
- Engage in developing short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections.
- Represent Moussawat financially to partners and donors.
- Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and operations.
- Provide practical recommendations to Executive Director and Board so as to improve internal control weaknesses and inefficiencies.
- Prepare regular financial planning and analysis reports as needed/required.
Finance
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee cash, program budgeting, and asset management.
- Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking accounts.
- Develop and utilize regular forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analysis to provide insight into the organization’s operations and program activity plans and budgets.
Accounting and Administration
- Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions.
- Supervise Moussawat’s accountant/ finance staff.
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for partners, the Board and the Executive Director.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate external audits and prepare preliminary draft audit reports and participate in discussing audit findings with management.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by his/her direct supervisor.
