Report Launching: The Regional Livelihood of GBTQ using Grindr

التمييز، العنف، الحقوق والعلاقات
يسلط هذا التقرير الضوء على تجارب مثليي التوجه الجنسي، ثنائي التوجه الجنسي، المغايرات النوع الاجتماعي المستخدمات/ين لتطبيق "غرايندر" (1794 مشارك/ة)، من الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. ويشمل العنف والتمييز في العمل، السكن، السياق الديني، الحقوق القانونية، الصحة الجنسية، الصحة النفسية والقبول العائلي والصداقات والعلاقات العامة.

خلال هذا الإطلاق سنسلط الضوء على الوضع القانوني والاجتماعي لأفراد GBTQ في كل بلد في المنطقة، مثلا كيف قامت الدولة في مصر بقمع صارم على الأفراد المشتبه في أنهم أعضاء في مجتمع LGBT ، في عام 2017 ، واعتقال 85 شخصًا ، أو كيف أنه منذ الغزو الذي قادته الولايات المتحدة للعراق ، ازدادت تقارير جرائم القتل بدافع الشرف للمثلييات/ن.
"لا يمكن الوضع أن يكون أسوأ من كونك مثلي التوجه الجنس في سوريا اليوم".
كما سنلقي نظرة خاصة على الوضع حول الأزمة السورية الحالية واضطرار اللاجئين إلى مواجهة تمييز مزدوج نتيجة كونهم من جنسانية بديلة وكونهم من مجتمع اللاجئين.
"تلقيت تحذيرا يمنعني من التصرف وفقا لهويتي وإلا تخلت عني عائلتي".
في الفصل الأخير، تعمقنا في ثلاثة مجالات: التمييز في السكن، وخبرات المغايرات النوع الاجتماعي / العابرات، والتفاوت بين النتائج المغربية واللبنانية.

Discrimination, Violence, Rights, and Relationships
This report brings to light the experiences of gay, bi, trans* women, and queer Grindr users (1,794 respondents), from the Middle East and North Africa. It covers violence, employment discrimination, housing discrimination, discrimination in a religious context, legal rights, sexual health, mental health, family acceptance, friendships, and relationships.

During this launch we will highlight the legal and social situation for GBTQ people in each country in the region, like how in Egypt the state conducted an aggressive crackdown on individuals suspected to be members of the LGBT community, in 2017, arresting 85 people, or how since the US-led invasion of Iraq, reports of honor killings of LGBT people have increased.
“It can’t get any worse than being gay in Syria today.”
We will also have a special look at the situation around the current Syrian crisis. Additionally, how refugees have to face double discrimination as a result of having an alternative sexuality and being from a refugee community.
“I got a warning that if I behave as myself I won't belong to my family anymore.”
Finally, in the last chapter, we delved deeper into three areas – housing discrimination, the experiences of trans* women respondents, and the contrast between the Moroccan and Lebanese results
We look forward to sharing with you our findings of gay, bi, trans* women, and queer experiences in the MENA region.
