Call for Drama Therapy Expert
Michel Daher Social Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Lebanon. Operating across four pillars—healthcare, social development, economic and human development, and community development and sustainable livelihoods—MDSF promotes resilience, sustainability, and social stability by addressing the needs of individuals, communities, and local enterprises.
Background
Salam Project, implemented by MDSF and funded by GIZ, aims to foster economic resilience and social stability in Southern Baalbek, West Bekaa, and Central Bekaa. A key component of the project focuses on transforming the Takallam Social Center into a hub for psychosocial services and community activities.
Drama therapy is a core initiative within this transformation, designed to empower youth and adolescents to address psychosocial challenges, enhance self-expression, and develop skills for advocacy and personal growth. This program will provide youth with the necessary expertise to deliver therapeutic interventions through drama, creating a sustainable career path for participants.
Objective
The primary objective of this consultancy is to build the capacity of selected youth to deliver Drama Therapy Training of Trainers (TOT) for children. The training will ensure participants gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to independently provide therapeutic interventions through drama.
Scope of Work
The trainer will be responsible for the following:
1. Curriculum Development
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to youth with diverse educational backgrounds.
2. Training Delivery
- Conduct interactive TOT sessions over 2 months, ensuring a balance between theoretical learning and practical application.
- Cover key topics, including:
- Foundations of drama therapy (theory and principles).
- Techniques and methods for therapeutic interventions through drama.
- Practical skills for engaging children, including those with trauma or learning difficulties.
3. Practical Application and Mentorship
- Facilitate hands-on practice sessions where youth apply their learning in real-world scenarios.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to enhance trainees' confidence and competence.
4. Progress Assessment
- Regularly assess trainee progress through evaluations, tests, or practical demonstrations.
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for further development.
5. Collaboration
- Collaborate with the MDSF team to identify the required materials and props needed for drama therapy sessions.
- Work closely with the architect to finalize the design of the room designated for drama therapy.
6. Reporting
- Submit a final report detailing the training process, outcomes, and actionable recommendations for youth to continue their career development in drama therapy.
The trainer is expected to collaborate with the MDSF team to identify the required instruments and their specifications and work closely with the architect to finalize the design of the room designated for music therapy.
Deliverables
1. Training Curriculum: A detailed curriculum covering both theoretical and practical aspects of
drama therapy.
2. Training Sessions: Delivery of a specified number of interactive TOT sessions over 2 months.
3. Training Materials: Preparation and provision of presentations, handouts, exercises, and other
resources.
4. Practical Demonstrations: Facilitation of hands-on sessions with feedback and guidance.
5. Participant Assessment: Regular assessments of trainees with constructive feedback.
6. Progress Updates: Submission of weekly progress reports highlighting key activities, challenges,
and trainee development.
7. Final Report: A comprehensive report summarizing the training process, outcomes, and
recommendations.
Duration of Assignment
The training program will span 2 months, with 15 TOT sessions conducted at the Takallam Center. Sessions will be scheduled based on an agreed timeline to ensure adequate time for theoretical and practical learning.
Starting date: June 2, 2025
End date: July 31, 2025
Trainer Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- A degree in Drama Therapy, Performing Arts, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a drama therapist, with a proven track record in delivering drama therapy training.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic interventions for children with trauma or learning difficulties.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate youth.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Previous experience working with NGOs or community-based organizations is an asset.
Location
The training will take place at Michel Daher Foundation, Bekaa, Lebanon.

Financial Proposal:
Provide a breakdown of your total offer in USD, including session rates, expenses, and taxes. Outline the payment structure based on milestones tied to deliverables.

Step 2: Submit Your Bid

- The subject line must include the TOR title (Drama Therapy Expert). Incomplete submissions or those without the correct subject line will not be considered.

Step 3: Offer Validity
Your offer must remain valid for 60 days from the submission deadline. You may be contacted for clarifications or further discussions during this time.
Step 4: Payment Terms
- Payment will be made via bank transfer or Telegraphic Transfer (TT) within 15 working days after service completion.
- Payment will be processed after deliverables are met.
- Note: Without a valid MOF certificate, tax deductions of 3.4% on goods and 8.5% on services will apply, according to articles number 41 and 42 of the income tax law.
Step 5: Evaluation
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Technical (60%): Methodology, curriculum, experience with youth, and mentorship approach
- Financial (40%): Cost-effectiveness and competitiveness
