Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing the current partnerships & fundraising strategy
  • Developing a full-fledged fundraising and business development plan
  • Forging strategic partnerships with regional and international entities
  • Building and nurturing relationships with current and potential funders, partners, sponsors, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting the establishment of Mentor Arabia’s Endowment Fund
  • Raising $6 digits resources to cover the foundation’s operational cost for 5 years
  • Developing grants acquisition strategy and applying for/securing grants
  • Creating a resource mobilization plan
  • Creating a mapping system for funding/grant opportunities and calls for proposals
  • Developing contingency plan for fundraising events, & identifying risks & steps for mitigation
  • Performing other duties as required by the CEO

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and business development (preferably with the non-profit sector in the MENA region)
  • A relevant MA in business, management, or social sciences or any other related field
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the civil society sector in the Arab region
  • High experience in fundraising strategies and business development
  • A proven record of fundraising of $6 digits funds
  • Excellent experience in building strategic partnerships
  • Expertise in writing fundraising strategies/action plans
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • High teamwork spirit, interpersonal, & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, efficiently and to prioritize work and meet deadlines with well-developed time management
  • High level of motivation, innovation, integrity, and work ethics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Accomplishes tasks accurately, thoroughly, and with a keen eye for details
  • Ability to work both under direction and autonomously with a “can-do” attitude
