Description: 

-Function responsibilities include:

  • Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.
  • According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics
  • Implement activities of health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor.
  • Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.
  • Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target.
  • Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints.
  • For OCBA: Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health services that can provide answers to social problems.
  • For OCBA: Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available.
  • For OCBA: Participate in creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.

 

-Specific activities:

  • Participate in the creation and updating of the Health Promotion/Information, Education and Communication (HP/IEC) strategy and define indicators to track the progress of HP activities.
  • Support the HP Supervisor in monitoring health education sessions integrated into the clinic, which includes video messaging, ensuring tool availability, updating health education schedules, etc.
  • Actively participate in adjusting HP messages and tools based on the target population's needs by identifying needs, contextualizing, pretesting, and providing feedback.
  • Report HP activities, challenges, strengths, and community complaints to the HP Supervisor. This includes the collection and encoding of HP-related data such as daily reports, assessments, referrals, and drafting monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with the HP Supervisor to ensure the community health education approach is implemented and its progress monitored.
  • Participate in the training of the HP team to ensure competence, capacity, and skill to execute duties adequately.
  • Technically supervise the Community Health Workers with the support of the HP Supervisor, which includes planning activities, coaching, mentoring, training, and supervision.
  • Collaborate with the HP Supervisor to monitor the implementation of Community-Based Surveillance (CBS).
  • Write all Minutes of Meetings (MoMs) related to the IEC-HP department.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by the hierarchy.

 

- Required qualification:

Education

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Science, Social Work, or Social Communication.
  • Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Education.

Experience

  • Essential: 3 years of previous work experience as a Health Promoter.
  • Desirable: 1 year of previous work experience in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • Desirable: 1 year of previous experience in MSF or other (I)NGO’s

Languages                            

  • Essential: Full professional proficiency of the Arabic and English language

Knowledge

  • Essential: Advanced computer literacy using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
