Electrician – Wadi Khaled, Akkar – 100 % activity

-Function responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all electrical installations in MSF facilities comply with MSF standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions. This includes the following tasks.
• Carrying out critical rehabilitation tasks and corrective maintenance interventions and the coordination and execution of required tasks as well as installation of needed electrical equipment as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary documentation for carrying out energy installations projects (plans, list of materials, etc.)
• Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSF missions’ facilities and performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
•  Identifying local technical actors, and organizing their participation in the project (training of technical staff, establishing relations with local companies, contractors and suppliers, quotations, contracts, etc.)
•  Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF electrical installations and equipment and assisting logistics department with any urgent support/advice or any relative work needed
• Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical installation, repair and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage
• Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
• Keeping working area clean and tidy.
• Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepares needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.

-Specific activities:

• Implementing MSF's electrical standards across all locations within the Akkar project, including the Office/warehouse, Guest house, MSF clinic, Makassed clinic, and any other activities as needed.
• Ensuring all electrical installations in hospital wards, offices, guest houses, and warehouses are safe and secure.
• Ensuring the electrical layout for each location is in place and up to date. 
• Verifying that the electrical needs align with the generator’s capacity.
• Maintaining and update the electrical layout for each location.
• Correcting any unsafe installations immediately.
• Performing random checks and rearrangements of connections.
• Conducting regular inspections of circuit breakers and their functionality.
• Checking and install grounding systems as required.
• Balancing load across phases, size wires correctly, and ensure safe connections.
• Handling electrical installations for new constructions.
• Upgrading older circuit breakers to appropriate sizes as needed.
• Performing checks and maintenance on the solar system, considering load, balance, need, and sizing.
• Checking and maintain control panels, and label panels accurately.
• Conducting regular tests on the functionality of Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCB) / Residual Current Devices (RCD).
• Assessing the need for backup systems, size them correctly, and install as needed.
• Performing regular electrical maintenance on all premises.
• Documenting all electrical work.
• Sizing indoor wiring appropriately.
• Identifying electrical risks and implement preventive measures.
• Working alongside the Electricity Manager to implement their recommendations.
• Replacing electrical devices such as switches, sockets, cables, and more as needed.
• Conducting regular electrical checks according to MSF's schedule.
• Performing any other tasks as requested by the hierarchy.

- Required qualification:

Education

•   Essential: Lebanese Technical Baccalaureate Certificate (BT3) in electricity

•   Desirable: Lebanese Technical License Certificate (LT) in electricity

•   Desirable: Recognized formal electricity training.

Experience

•    Essential: A minimum of 2 years of previous work experience in a similar position

•    Desirable: 1 year of previous experience in MSF or other (I)NGO’s

Languages

•   Essential: Full professional proficiency of the Arabic and English language

Knowlegde

•    Essential:  Intermediate computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)
