Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that delivers impartial medical care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care in over 70 countries.

MSF has been working continuously in Lebanon since 2008. Today our operational teams work all over the country delivering quality,  free of charge medical care to those who need it.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

MSF Lebanon is launching an internship program!

 Duration: 6 weeks (July 13 – August 28): please note that the performance will be evaluated and the internship extended if needed.

 

Why

The Translation Activity Manager (TAM) working within the communications team is in need of a translation intern to support in the management of translation and communications projects and tasks planned for the coming months.

Key activities

  • Support in the translation of a COVID-19 resources website
  • Support in the translation of AV material
  • Support in the translation of public communications
  • Participate in meetings with the regional Arabic language working group
  • Participate in meetings with the communications team
  • Help in the collection of COVID-19 Operational Medical material
  • Help in the management of the freelance translators pool

Collaboration

The translation intern will work under the supervision of the TAM and in close collaboration with the communications team.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • Hold a BA in translation.
  • Be a native Arabic speaker.
  • Have demonstrable fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Have demonstrable ability to translate from English into Arabic, producing translations that meet the minimum linguistic requirements. Ability to translate from Arabic into English is an asset.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Be punctual, reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently to complete tasks assigned by TAM.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
