Main responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the Mental Health integration in the PHCC’s West & Central Bekaa.
  • Conduct assessment in the community to assess the topics need it (such FGD) for Group support and awareness session.
  • Participate / assist in the MhGap training for the GP/ nurses with the Trainer.
  • Properly assess, diagnose, support and treat mental health and substance use cases; respond to emergency cases
  • Coordinate with the PHCC’s Staff and program manager for the implementation of all Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use (SU) interventions and activities in the PHCC’s.
  • Assist in the coordination of MHPSS and SU activities with PHC staff as well as other stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of psychosocial activities, including group support.
  • Raise awareness, build the capacities off PHC staff and outreach volunteers about MHPSS.

 

Main responsibilities and activities of the Psychotherapists can change according to the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.

The therapist will be under the direct management of the CMHC Supervisor and under the overall supervision of the MHPSS Program Manager.

 

 

Main activities:

 

  1. Ensure the Mental Health integration in the PHCC’s West & Central Bekaa.
  • Assist with the MhGap training of the GP’s and the nurses.
  • Conduct with the PM MH and Safe detection referral.
  • Sensitization session for the PHCC’s staff.
  • Support the PHCC’ staff in assessing the person’s situation.
  • Properly support the PHCC staff in the assessment, diagnose and provision of  appropriate mental health support and psycho-education to all beneficiaries in need in the PHCC’s, which may requires direct intervention.
  • Work directly with Nurses, social worker and the GP’s in the PHCC’s
  • Participate to case discussions for the person need MH support with the PHCC’s staff
  • Ensure proper follow up with the GP’S, nurses, , including outreach and psychoeducation with the COV’s and the PHC C’s staff
  • Closely work with the technical advisor and the PM.

 

  1. Development of mental health activities in the PHCC’s
  • Assist in the assessment of mental health needs and proposition of interventions
  • Design, organize and implement group support.
  • Participate in establishing and implementing innovative PSS activities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of preventive activities

 

  1. Awareness raising and capacity building about mental health in the PHCC’s.
  • Technical skills for the facilitation of group support/ awareness session/ training COV’s.
  • Participate in the preparation of awareness/training sessions about MH and SU for staff at PHCCs.
  • Support in the MhGap training.

 

  1. Utilization of the referral system between community and PHC Centre as well as to secondary treatment level
  • Ensure to have mapping services updated and shared with PHCC’s staff.
  • Assist in the development of effective referral systems.
  • Utilize the referral system to secondary mental health care.

 

  1. Reporting and meetings
  • Daily data collection and entry, respecting deadlines
  • Monthly reporting on mental health and substance use integration.
  • Participate in internal meetings and individual meetings.
  • Participate in regular meetings with key actors, NGOs/INGOs and PHCC’s.
  • Participate in the supervision meeting with the GP/ nurses.
  • Participate in network/coordination meetings concerning mental health and substance use.
  • Support PHCC’s staff for the documentation and follow-up for the MH patient.

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile

 

  • MA in Clinical Psychology with a clear practicum path (at least 500 hours)
  • Licensed from MOPH or in the process.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in clinical psychology
  • MH Gap training is a plus.
  • Follow individual supervision when need it
  • Believes in a comprehensive and holistic approach towards positive mental health.
  • Arabic and English language are mandatory.
  • Experience working with NGO is preferred.
  • Excellence in organizing, planning and prioritizing task
  • Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services.
  • Strong ability to observe, analyse, report and take initiative.
  • Ability to work with a team as well as to work independently.
  • Ability to seek, collect, and critically analyse data and information needed to achieve the tasks.
  • Clear commitment in the project thematic.
  • Ability to communicate any technical or non-technical topic with clarity and to share any important project information with the team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel.
  • Ability to self-reflect on your work, to recognize what needs improvement and to propose solutions.
