Micro-Grants Call for Proposal - Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing of People Living in Lebanon

This call for proposal will support the project “Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing of People Living in Lebanon” implemented by Médecins du Monde (MdM) and a consortium of five other organizations (Skoun, Amel, Abaad, Embrace and Humanity and Inclusion), and funded under the Agence Francaise de Développment (AFD). The project aims to contribute to the the development of community based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Substance Uses (SU) system offering appropriate, quality and inclusive services to all people living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk through the establishment and operation of two Community Mental Health and Substance Use Centers (CMH-SUC) in Baalbek (Baalbek Governmental Hospital) and Beirut (Rafic Hariri University hospital), implement outreach activities, support the creation of a national service user association, as well as conduct a series of advocacy, capacity building and awareness sessions to targeted groups of the society (such as journalist, judges, community members, hospital staff) to fight the stigma against mental health and promote usage of services.

 

This micro-grant call is open to any grassroots’ organization (community based, youth clubs, municipalities etc.) who is interested to organize awareness events on MHPSS or SU or Social Cohesion and Peace Building activities. Events can take any form, from an awareness campaign to organizing sport events.

Please note that the maximum amount given to one organization is up to 2,000 USD

 

Eligibility criteria to apply for the micro grant call: An organization/group is considered eligible for applying to this call if it meets all the following criteria:

  • Scope: Proposed action should fit within the project objective and revolves around mental health, substance use, social cohesion or peace building events
  • Geographical coverage: Proposed action should take place in North Bekaa (Baalbek and surrounding communities)
  • Duration: Proposed action should be completed before June 30, 2021
  • The organization/ group should be able to receive funds through a Lebanese registered bank account
  • The organization/group should be able to submit documents that proves that they are not related to any military or political group
  • The organization/ group should be able to share at least two recommendation letters from other stakeholders, which can support the organization/group work

 

Evaluation of the proposals:  All eligible applications (for which the application file is complete) will be evaluated by a committee composed of at least three technical and operational staff from MdM.

 

The projects will be evaluated according to criteria of relevance, feasibility, sustainability, capacity

operational, strategic and budgetary coherence.

 

After the evaluation, a table will be drawn up, showing all the applications selected, classified according to their score and within the limits of the funds available.

 

Applicants will receive a letter after validation by the decision coordination committee attribution, towards the end of September 2020.

 

MdM reserves the right, if necessary, to make amendments (adjustments) to projects in agreements

with the applicant.

 

Beneficiaries (successful applicants) will be offered an agreement. Funds will be paid as soon as the applicants accept, the contractual conditions of the subsidies (see model published with the call) and completes their administrative file (statement of banking identity, statutes of the association)

يهدف المشروع إلى المساهمة في تطوير النظام المجتمعي للصحة النفسية والدعم النفسي الاجتماعي (MHPSS) و استخدام المواد المخدرة (SU) الذي يقدم خدمات مناسبة، شاملة وذات جودة لجميع الأشخاص االمقيمين في لبنان ، لا سيما الفئات الأكثر ضعفاً والأشخاص المعرضين للخطر من خلال إنشاء وتشغيل مركزين مجتمعيين للصحة النفسية ومعالجة الإدمان (CMH-SUC) في بعلبك (مستشفى بعلبك الحكومي) وبيروت (مستشفى رفيق الحريري الجامعي). إضافة الى تنفيذ أنشطة توعوية ، دعم إنشاء جمعية وطنية لمستخدمي الرعاية الصحية النفسية واجراء سلسلة من جلسات حشد الدعم وبناء القدرات والتوعية للفئات المستهدفة من المجتمع (مثل الصحافيين والقضاة وأعضاء المجتمع وموظفي المستشفى) لمكافحة الوصمة ضد الصحة العقلية والنفسية وتعزيز الاستفادة من الخدمات.
ان هذه الدعوة لتقديم عروض المنح الصغيرة مفتوحة لأي منظمة أهلية (مجتمع محلي ، نوادي الشباب ، بلديات ، إلخ) مهتمة بتنظيم أنشطة توعوية حول الصحة النفسية أو استخدام المواد المخدرة أو التماسك الاجتماعي وبناء السلام. قد تكون النشاطات بأشكال مختلفة من حملات توعية إلى نشاطات رياضية أو غيرها.

يرجى ملاحظة أن الحد الأقصى للمبلغ الممنوح لمؤسسة واحدة يصل إلى 2000 دولار أمريكي.
 
آلية الاختيار: سيتم النظر في عروض المنح الصغيرة فقط للمنظمات التي تقدم جميع المستندات المطلوبة. سيتم تخصيص 5 منح صغيرة للمنظمات التي تحصل على أعلى درجات من حيث ملاءمة النشاط ومدى تأثيره (كما هو مفصل في نموذج الطلب).

Selection process: Only organizations submitting all required documents will be considered for the micro-grants. A total of 5 micro-grants will be assigned to those who score highest on the relevance, appropriateness and impact of the activity (as detailed in the application form)
