Role

Manage the overall financial flows and resources of Legal Agenda and responsible for all accounting, controlling and planning to ensure the organization's financial viability and protect the organization’s funds.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Accounting and Financial Management
    • Implement Legal Agenda’s financial management policies
    • Record the accounting entries in the accounting system
    • Develop regular and annual organizational budgets in line with approved policies
    • Develop projects budgets in line with approved policies
    • Prepare financial and comparative reports for management and for donors
    • Follow up and communicate with the management on any new financial regulatory requirements and their impact on Legal Agenda
    • Develop external relationships with relevant contacts including auditors, bankers and government organizations
    • Liaise with external audit companies to ensure projects and annual audit are carried out
    • Prepare salaries for all employees and contractors
    • Prepare checks
    • Ensure all financial documentation is produced and stored safely

 

  • Other administrative tasks
    • Maintain an updated database of personnel and contractor files and information (including contracts, timesheets, invoices, etc.)
    • Support in the development of contracts in compliance with approved policies and donor regulations
    • Assist in the effective implementation of Legal Agenda’s HR Policies and Procedures
    • Ensure compliance and timely submission of requested documentation with projects’ and donors’ requirements

 

Requirements for the position

  • Bachelor’s in accounting/Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Finance, ideally within public or nonprofit institution
  • Analytical skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good command of Arabic and English (Oral and written)
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of MS office applications (e.g. Excel), and accounting software applications
