About Lebanon Support

Lebanon Support is an action-oriented, non-profit research centre for and about civil society.

We are a multidisciplinary space creating synergies and bridging between researchers, experts, civil society and NGO practitioners, and activists. Lebanon Support aims to foster social change through innovative uses of social science, digital technologies, and publication and exchange of knowledge.

We achieve our action-oriented mission through 3 main programs:

Daleel Madani: the civil society network

The Civil Society Knowledge Centre (CSKC): our online research platform

The Civil Society Incubator which provides tailored support and mentoring

Job purpose: 

The Programmes Officer ensures the overall, strategic, and day-to-day management of Lebanon Support’s programmes  and their smooth functioning. 

Under the direct supervision of the Director, and in collaboration with the Deputy Director, the Programmes Officer’s main tasks include:

1) Project Coordination, Management, and Monitoring

Provide coordination, effective management, and leadership to Lebanon Support’s programmes, to achieve the greatest impact possible;

Ensure projects’ teams and counterparts are continuously involved, consulted and informed of ongoing progress;

Manage the overall programmes by planning and tracking project activities in accordance with the projects agreements;   

Establish work plans, set performance targets and indicators, and identify challenges and strategies to achieve project aims in coordination with the relevant team members. 

2) Grants Management

Participate in Lebanon Support’s resource mobilization efforts; 

Track deliverables and communicate the project's progress to the Director, as well as external partners and donors; 

Lead on the coordination, preparation, and submission of donor reports, under the supervision of the Director and in collaboration with other Lebanon Support departments;

Review financial progress, identify realignments where needed, and ensure resources are being effectively and efficiently used;

Ensure implementation is in compliance with Lebanon Support’s internal policies as well as donors’ policies and procedures.

3) Coordination and Representation

Represent Lebanon Support when required with partner organisations;

Act as focal point and liaison between Lebanon Support’s programmes and other LS units as well as other stakeholders, where necessary.

4) Technical Support

Identify synergies as well as opportunities across Lebanon, the region and globally,  to enhance opportunities for knowledge sharing as per Lebanon Support’s mandate, and liaise with research centres, universities and think tanks; 

Contribute to the development and review of programmes related internal materials, tools;

Contribute to the review of publications for quality and consistency prior to dissemination.

Perform other tasks as required. 

Qualifications

MA degree or higher qualifications in NGO/ project management, social sciences, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience in the relevant field 

Excellent time management skills;

Fluency in English and Arabic are minimum requirements. Knowledge of French is highly desirable;

Excellent management and organisational skills;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public presentation skills, and a very strong capacity for effective teamwork.
