I. INTRODUCTION

NGO's Background Information

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI started as a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LRI's mission is to restore Lebanon's native forests and to instill commitment to reforestation and wildfire prevention and response, through capacity building of local communities and organizations.

II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

LRI seeks a Part-Time MEL Officer to assist the MEL Specialist in monitoring LRI NGO projects activities and compiling data related to performance indicators through field and office tasks.

The position is a part-time position for Three months, renewable and upgraded to a full-time position based on available funding and performance.

The MEL Officer is expected to perform the below duties:

  • Assist in the development of data collection tools and templates for all projects.
  • Assist in regular data collection for all projects, including data collection on cross cutting issues such as gender, youth, Syrian refugees, etc.
  • Record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in the database in a safe and accessible way.
  • Assist in the management of the M&E database for the projects.
  • Assist in compiling data against project indicators.
  • Support the M&E specialist in developing the periodical reports and providing data requirements to donors and other stakeholders.

III. REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years' experience in MEL activities and database management. 
  • Bachelor in the related field. 
  • MIS background is a plus.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent in both spoken and written English & Arabic languages.
