I. INTRODUCTION

NGO's Background Information

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI started as a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LRI's mission is to restore Lebanon's native forests and to instill commitment to reforestation and wildfire prevention and response, through capacity building of local communities and organizations.

LRI has signed an MOU with Ehmej Municipality to support in the management of Arz Ehmej, the ecotourism/conservation area in Ehmej.

II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

LRI seeks two full-time Janitors for Arz Ehmej for the period of one year, renewable based on available funding and performance. The Janitors will help the NGO team in maintaining a safe clean space for visitors, especially in the current COVID-19 situation.

The Janitors are expected to perform the following duties related to the Arz Ehmej activities:

• Clean main building on a daily basis and disinfect used areas;
• Clean bungalows at check out. This includes: removing ALL used items, such as linen, covers, soaps, dishes, cups, cutlery, napkin boxes, grill, etc, The whole area should be cleaned with disinfectants provided by the management in addition to sanitizing the bungalows with relevant sprayers, resetting new disinfected items and resetting the bungalow to receive new visitors;
• Completing all items on the checklist for each bungalow fully in a timely manner;
• Coordinate with the Reservation & Sales Coordinator on timing and prioritization of bungalows;
• Clean restaurant tables regularly and disinfect them between customers;
• Gather waste and sort recyclables;
• Coordinate waste disposal based on LRI’s sorting and recycling plan for Arz Ehmej;
• Clean toilets regularly between customers;
• Ensure the availability of sanitary items, including toilet paper, paper towels and soap in toilets at all times;
• Regularly cleaning litter from the whole Arz Ehmej area, and when needed from trails;
• Supporting in removing weeds from the landscape area when requested;
• Manage laundry to ensure availability of clean linen at all times;

• Assist in any other related activities may reasonably be required;
• Report to LRI’s project manager.

III. REQUIREMENTS

The Janitors should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in cleaning services;
• Strong hygiene, communication and inter-personal skills;
• Good positive attitude;
• Attention to detail;
• Living in Ehmej and neighboring villages;
• Basic language knowledge.
