Overview:
LUPD is The Lebanese Union for People with Disabilities (LUPD) is seeking to hire a Grant Coordinator specialized in program development, grants management and fundraising to help in the diversification of their sources of funding. The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for the mapping of potential funding opportunities, the proposal development process and implement a grants management system in coordination with LUPD teams.
Key responsibilities
- Mapping of potential donors:
- Research various types of available grants and the criteria for eligibility.
- Identify donors whose priorities align with LUPD’s strategic vision.
- Discuss potential funding opportunities with administrative managers.
- Seek approval from administrative managers to proceed with the application process
- Proposal Development Process
- Work closely with LUPD team to design competitive final proposals responsive to donor guidelines and requirements, and in line with LUPD program strategy.
- Lead the proposals development in consistency with the requirements of requests or calls for proposals or concept notes, predicting or preventing bottlenecks in the proposal development process.
- Ensure that the proposal development process takes into consideration the mainstreaming of global cross cutting themes such as inclusion and gender, sector strategies and lessons learnt from previous programming.
- Lead or support assessments for new programming, ensuring linkages with LUPD program team, in line with LUPD’s vision and mission.
- Proposal Development Process
- Establish grants management systems and ensure that LUPD teams are aware of programmatic, financial and compliance requirements of donors.
- Lead the organization of grant kick-off, review and close-out meetings, analyzing original plans and log frames against achievements.
- Disseminate key program requirements such as reporting needs, formats and timelines are known by all relevant staff.
- Lead or support the preparation and submission of program reports to donors, in coordination with LUPD teams from Program, MEAL, Support departments.
- Lead or support the liaison with donors on all major decisions, changes or organizational news.
- Ensure comprehensive grant files are maintained up to date and are available for use by key staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in proposal writing and grant management
Education: University degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong database management skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Familiarity with grant funding policies, donor regulations, and compliance requirements.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to develop and produce high-quality proposals and reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and program data.
- Capacity to collect, analyze, and present statistical data in reports and presentations.
Organizational and Management Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in grant management and fundraising.
- Familiarity with community-based funding sources and mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of inclusion, gender equity, and related cross-cutting themes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments.
