Description:

Beneficial Ownership (BO) refers to the natural person(s) who ultimately owns or controls a customer and/or the natural person on whose behalf a transaction is being conducted. It also includes those persons who exercise ultimate effective control over a legal person or arrangement.

The Lebanese national legislation includes provisions tackling Beneficial Ownership, yet to be enforced. While the issue of Beneficial Ownership is of critical importance to sustainable economic growth and social stability, it has not reached yet the level of importance it deserves, on both State and civil society actors’ levels. Therefore, LTA’s intervention is to put forward Beneficial Ownership as a priority on both agendas: The state as a reform priority, and civil society actors as a priority advocacy ask.

Under this project, LTA is creating a database for BO on its website by mapping the rules and regulations governing BO in Lebanon, in addition to relevant events. While at the same time publishing several primers and blogposts covering BO and its different relevant aspects; legal, social, economic, corruption…

To that effect, the recruited Researcher(s) will be responsible for drafting primers and blogposts, as agreed with LTA, on BO that will be published on LTA’s website. LTA will work closely with the recruited Researcher(s) to coordinate the work and provide guidance.

Tasks:
The Researcher(s) must complete all tasks relevant to having the deliverables agreed on with LTA ready on time, including:
- Research,
- Analysis,
- Drafting,
- Integrating LTA’s comments.

Qualifications:
1- BA in Social Sciences, preferably in Law;
2- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the legal field;
3- A proven record of relevant publications.
